TODAY'S TASK is to create drawings or other designs for the chalkboard wall (previous post promise).
To make it easy we'll just TRACE & TRANSFER.
Let's print some favorite images or gather all those random sketches plus clippings of interesting quotes so we can create a carbon copy using simple TIPS & TECHNIQUES:
A favorite image is a Fornasetti Plate I found on Pinterest, speaking of, here is one of my boards full of tracing ideas: Sublunay Sillhouettes
I prepared a contrasting surface so I could see my transfer. It also created a plate shape.
If there is anything that needs to be changed it can be easily erased and traced again, which makes this a great time to practice smudging and softening the edges for future pastel drawing originals.
Now we just wait around for the rest of the surface to become invaded with impromptu notes, grocery lists, cute quotes, menu items, and imprints of a witty passerby. OR Maybe the whole chalkboard wall can be covered with a life-size rendering of a horse. Maybe.
See you later!
Rosemary Christmas Tree
Every year we try a new alternative Christmas tree idea. This year we ran out of time and our last minute decision was to use the herbal fragrance, simplicity, and convenient concept by bringing inside a rosemary plant.
This post will be just as simple with only two steps:
If we place too many items on the branches we might damage the plant, and we want to be able to take it back outside where we use it as a natural bug repellent

It would be so difficult to make the decision to alter the wood grain of these doors if we had not removed the cabinets from the kitchen. We stacked them together for better storage in a different area and the grouping turned out great.
We had so many ideas on how to decorate them in the new location but we decided on using classic, neutral colors for a more simple and cohesive look and it was a very noticeable change.
We are thinking about displaying the kids artwork on each panel just to take advantage of the space, the frames, and the joy of creative moments.
